Request an Animal Trap

Animal traps are used to humanely remove animals from private property. Traps can be provided to residents for the removal of cats.

Upon arrival at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, the dogs and cats will be scanned for microchips and if found to have one, their owners will be contacted.

  • Cat Traps

Through the Trap-Neuter-Return Program, residents can rent a trap from Animal Services to capture the animal, then take it to the Pet Adoption and Protection Center to be sterilized, vaccinated and returned to the community it came from.

The cat traps are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and are available for free. They do require a $50 refundable deposit.

The traps must be returned within 10 days to receive a refund on your deposit.

Once the cat is trapped, you will need to bring the cat into the shelter. Animal Services will not come to pick up the cat.

  • Dog Traps

Animal control officers will try to capture stray dogs that have been reported to 311. If the dog is not captured at that time, a trap will be provided by Animal Services at no cost.

When the dog has been trapped, call us to pick up the dog.

Dog traps are not available at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center.
