Farmworker Training

Farmworker training is provided at the South Dade Skills Center.

  • Eligibility

    To qualify for the program, you must meet the eligibility requirements.

    • Must be 18 years old. If under 18, must be attending high school.
    • Must be a farmworker or the husband, wife, or dependent child of a farmworker.
    • Must be a citizen or a legal resident of the United States, or have a working permit.
    • Must meet federal poverty income guidelines.
  • Types of services offered

    The program offers the following types of services.

    • Outreach
    • Comprehensive assessment
    • Career counseling
    • Vocational and Academic training
    • Case management
    • Job placement and retention
    • Transportation
    • Cash needs base allowance
    • Free tuition and books and your dependents
  • How to apply

    You must visit the South Dade Skills Center to apply for the program. You will meet with school personnel who will provide you with an overview of the services that the program offers.
