Request Public Records from Fire Rescue

Fire Rescue's Central Records Bureau processes all requests for public records generated by the general public and the media, including:

  • Incident reports
  • Fire investigation reports
  • Occupancy inspection reports
  • Life safety inspection reports
  • Department personnel files
  • Department policies, procedures and memos
  • Data reports

Public Records Requests should be submitted in writing to ensure accuracy and streamline processing. You can make your request by mail, email or in person.

Email requests should have the individual or company name and "Public Records Request" in the subject line. To expedite requests from the media, they should use the media records email address.

Your request should also let us know if you want the records sent by mail, email or if you will pick it up in person.

After we receive your request, we will contact you to let you know the estimated cost of providing the records and how long it will take to process your request.

State or federal laws may prohibit us from providing the requested records due to medical privacy laws or other exemptions.

  • Fees

Fees for copies of public records are established by Florida's Public Records law.

    • Single-sided pages - 15 cents each
    • Double-sided pages - 20 cents each
    • Certified Copies - $1 per page
    • Copies of pre-printed reports and other materials will be charged at the per copy cost billed to the department.

Requests requiring research or processing time of more than 20 minutes will also have a service charge based on the cost of labor of the staff providing the service.
